Lingual Braces are attached to the inside of your teeth, facing the tongue. This makes the braces virtually invisible when you speak or smile so no one will know you're having orthodontic treatment.
Your orthodontist will first need to take an impression of your mouth which is then scanned into a computer program. Then utilising 3D CAD-CAM technology, the invisible braces are designed specifically to fit the contours of each individual tooth.
Lingual Braces are totally personalised to allow for accurate and efficient tooth movements. Since the braces are on the inside of your teeth, they may interfere with the tongue, which can be at first irritating and uncomfortable, and may also cause some initial difficulty with speech.
Lingual Braces are more complicated to fit and adjustments take longer than traditional braces. The extra clinical time and custom manufacture makes this treatment option more expensive.
